NDDC Probe: How Lawmakers Forced Me To Pay Contractors To Get Budget Approval – Pondei

The Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Prof. Kemebradikumo Daniel Pondei has once again indicted some Nigerian lawmakers on the speedy approval of the 2019 budget.

Speaking via a statement signed by Edgar Ebigoni, his Special Adviser on Media, Pondei revealed how the lawmakers allegedly coerced him to pay some contractors to speed up the harmonisation of  2019 annual budget.

He alleged further that some Lawmakers, especially members of Ad hoc Committees held the Commission hostage over the years with the annual budget approval.

However, in another related development, Itsekiri Interest Group, IIG has called for the dissolution of Pondei led led Interim Management Committee of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.

The group  berated those against recommendations of the Senate Ad hoc committee on the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, for dissolution of the Prof Kemebradikumo Pondei led Interim Management Committee, IMC of the NDDC and the commission placed under the supervision of Secretary to Government of the Federation, SGF, saying the committee should be commended for the bold step .
