The Lagos State government has clarified that Junior Secondary School (JSS) 3 students, who are registered for National Examination Council, NECO Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) are the ones expected to resume on Monday, August 10.

This was confirmed by the state Commissioner for Education, Folashade Adefisayo.

She noted that other JSS 3 students waiting to write BECE organized by the Lagos State Examinations Board would be informed of the scheduled dates of their examination.

Naija News understands that the JSS 3 exam organized by NECO is scheduled to begin on August 24 but the students are allowed to resume from August 10 in preparation for the examination.

NAN quoted the Commissioner as saying that all COVID-19 protocols must be maintained by both private and public schools, warning that government officials will be making visits to ensure compliance.

She stated that the washing of hands, wearing of face masks and the maintenance of social distancing must be adhered to.

It will be recalled the Lagos State Government had instructed SS 3 students to resume on August 3, to enable them prepare for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and NABTEB.
