Pastor Sam Adeyemi and his wife, Nike Adeyemi, has told their Church congregations to observe their services from home, noting that the Church will only resume to physical services when the environment is safe.

The Senior Pastors of the Daystar Christian Centre noted this is a statement released on Friday, August 7.

According to the husband and wife who co-shepherd the same ministry, members of their church will not resume physical congregational service on Sunday, August 9, 2020, as expected by many.

Naija News understands that Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu had last week approved for worship centres in the state to resume their activities starting from August 7.

The governor permitted the Christian believers and Muslim faithful to start going for their general prayers and activities after months of closure due to the Coronavirus outbreak across the nation. Sanwo-Olu, however, admonished the worshippers to continue to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 protocol already made available to all worship centres by the government and health agencies to avoid the spread of the dreaded disease.

However, Pastor Adeyemi and his wife in the statement titled, ‘Update On Resumption Of Physical Services’ said, “We are aware of the Lagos State Government’s announcement that churches can resume physical services from 9th August 2020. We thank God for the progress made so far by the federal and state governments, the NCDC and our frontline health workers. However, the leadership of Daystar Christian Centre has resolved NOT to open her worship centres for physical gathering on the immediate.”

The Church leaders said it will continue with the online service as for now until it is safe enough to resume the physical service, for the safety of lives of its members.

The statement added, “Daystar Christian Centre will continue to hold her services online exclusively pending further review. We look forward to the resumption of physical services in a safe environment. We urge our members and friends to join us on all our online platforms for life-transforming services.

“God’s mercy that has preserved us thus far will cause this plague to pass over our families, nations and planet in Jesus’ name. Amen!”.

In another news, the traditional ruler of Obor community in Awara, Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, Eze Andrew Okuegbunuwa, and a cleric identified as Caleb Agu, has been arrested by Operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Imo State Police Command for alleged kidnapping, Naija News reports.
