Governor Godwin Obaseki alongside his deputy Philip Shaibu has visited the Edo State House of Assembly.
Naija News reports that the Speaker of the Edo Assembly, Hon. Francis Okiye also accompanied the governor.
Governor Obaseki was at the Assembly to allay the fears of any move to impeach him, a source told Naija News.
He assured that any move to impeach him will not succeed as he has the full backing of lawmakers.
Recall that operatives of the Nigeria Police on Thursday took over the Edo State House of Assembly complex in Benin City.
The security officials stormed the complex while patrol vehicles were stationed around the area.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), Ayoola Ajala, led the operation.
It was gathered that the move was to forestall an alleged planned attack on the facility.
