Human rights activist, Comrade Deji Adeyanju has alleged that Thursday’s invasion of the Edo State House of Assembly by security operatives is linked to an attempt by Adams Oshiomhole to remove Governor Godwin Obaseki from office.

He alleged that Oshiomhole had planned to use the lawmakers to impeach Obaseki and also orchestrated the police invasion of the complex.

It will be recalled as previously reported by Naija News that the premises of the Edo State House of Assembly was taken over on Thursday morning by heavily armed operatives of the Nigeria police force.

In the confusion that followed, both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have accused each other of being responsible for the siege.

However, in his reaction to the saga, Comrade Adeyanju claimed the former National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, and some of his supporters are behind the development.

He quoted sources to have disclosed that some elected State lawmakers who are on the side of the APC, and allegedly loyal to Oshiomole had perfected plans for sitting at the assembly complex and impeach Obaseki.

See what he wrote on Twitter:

“According to reports, Oshiomohole and co mobilized for impeachment of Obaseki today but the move failed even with massive deployment of police officers.

“This Oshiomohole guy is insane. Edo State won’t make progress until that guy is permanently humiliated.”
