Buhari, Osinbajo Meets Security Chiefs In Aso Villa

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, and his vice, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo today (Tuesday), August 4 presides over a meeting of the security council.

Bashir Ahmad, Personal Assistant to the president on New Media, disclosed the details on his Twitter account on Tuesday morning.

Naija News understands that the meeting, currently holding inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja, has in attendance all service chiefs and the Inspector-General of Police.

Also in attendance is the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno; heads of the Department of State Services and National Intelligence Agency; Ministers of Justice, Police Affairs, Defence, and Interior among others.

His tweet reads; “President Muhammadu Buhari currently presiding over the National Security Council Meeting at the State House, Abuja. Service Chiefs and other heads of national security agencies in attendance.”

Meanwhile, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has said the formation of new security out by Miyetti Allah was a plot to conquer Nigeria.

Naija News reports that Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore (MAKH) had established a security outfit called Miyetti Allah Vigilantes nationwide to stop the alleged increase in attacks against the Fulani herdsmen.

According to the Fulani group, the vigilantes would operate according to the constitutional provisions and legal requirements of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

 

The group said the new security outfit will curb crimes such as cattle rustling, kidnapping, and rural banditry.
