The federal government of Nigeria has approved the resumption of SS3 students in the 104 unity schools across the country as from tomorrow (Tuesday).
This was confirmed on Monday by the Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba in a statement signed by the Director, Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Education, Ben Goong.
According to the statement, the decision is coming after a virtual meeting with Commissioners of Education in the 36 States and other stakeholders.
He added that a team comprising of the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Permanent Secretary, Directors and others will embark on an assessment tour to confirm the readiness and state of things based on reports received from the principals of the unity schools.
“From today, the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Permanent Secretary and Directors will embark on an assessment tour of all Unity Colleges to ascertain and confirm the reports they have received from the Principals of Unity Colleges,” the statement said.
