Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has arraigned one Mr Olabode Oluwaseun, before the Magistrates Court in Akure, for allegedly responsible for the death of his wife and their unborn baby.

According to the report, the 47-year-old man while beating his wife whose name is given as Blessing hit her on the abdomen, which resulted in her death.

Naija News understands that Oluwaseun was on Wednesday arraigned before the court on one count charge for the crime which he reportedly committed since April 3 at the Oke-Agba area of Akure.

According to Police prosecutor, Inspector Uloh Goodluck, while speaking before the court on Wednesday, Oluwaseun’s offence was punishable under Section 319 (1) of the Criminal Code Cap 36 Volume 1 Laws of Ondo State.

Goodluck explained further that the case was that of murder and asked the court to remand Oluwaseun in police custody pending legal advice from the Department of Public Prosecution. The counsel to the accused person, Mr A. Ololike, however, did not oppose the application for a remand order.

On his part, the presiding Magistrate, N. T Aladejana, ordered that the culprit be remanded in police custody pending legal advice from DPP as he adjourned the case until September 8 for further hearing.
