FG Shuts Down Schools Nationwide Over Coronavirus In Nigeria

The Federal Government of Nigeria has reversed its earlier decision to reopen all secondary school to resume for forthcoming West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

Naija News recalls that the Federal Government’ had earlier directed students in exit classes across the country to resume on Tuesday, 4 August 2020 for revision classes ahead of their forthcoming examinations.

However, Nigeria’s Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, confirmed this at a press briefing after the Federal Executive council meeting today 29th July 2020. Adamu reveals that no school is expected to resume on Tuesday, 4 August or any time soon.

He reinstated that he does not mind that Nigerian student loose a complete session than getting infected to the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.Adamu also advised state government who have concluded plan to reopen schools to backtracks from the proposed plans.
