The federal government of Nigeria has announced that secondary schools in the country are to reopen by August 4, 2020.

However, only the exit classes are to reopen according to a statement on Monday by the federal ministry of education on its Twitter handle.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday extended the ease of lockdown in Nigeria by one week.

3. Southern Kaduna: IGP Orders Full Enforcement of Curfew

The Inspector-General of Police, M.A Adamu ‍has ordered the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police to ensure full enforcement of the curfew imposed by the Kaduna State Government as part of efforts at restoring law and order in parts of Southern Kaduna affected by recent violence and other security challenges.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday approved the renaming of several train stations after many “prominent Nigerians”.

This was made known in a statement released by the Ministry of Transportation.

According to the statement, the “deserving citizens have contributed to the progress and development of their respective communities and the nation at large.”

5. NDDC Contracts: Senator Nwabaoshi Dares Akpabio

The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, has been challenged by the Chairman, Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs, Peter Nwabaoshi, to send a list of 53 NDDC contracts allegedly awarded to his companies to the anti-graft agencies for investigation.

Nwabaoshi called out the former Governor of Akwa Ibom State after he mentioned his name and other lawmakers as beneficiaries of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) contracts.

The federal government of Nigeria has announced that final year students of secondary schools in Nigeria will start their West African Examinations Council (WAEC) exams by August 17.

7. Ondo 2020: Jegede Receives His Certificate Of Return In Abuja

Eyitayo Jegede, the Ondo governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has received his Certificate of Return as the winner of the primary election.

Naija News learnt that the Gov of Enugu State and Chairman of the Ondo State Primary Election Committee, Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, presented the Certificate to Jegede at Abuja.

An Abuja Magistrates Court on Monday, July 27 commenced hearing on a case filed against attendees of the funeral of Abba Kyari, former chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari.
