The Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State, on Monday, elected Hon. Sikirulahi Ogundele, as the Chairman of the party in the state.

Ogundele was elected as the chairman of the party has won an election held during today’s state congress at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta.

The Chairman of the Ogun State PDP electoral Committee, Deji Ogunsakin, while speaking, noted that the ward and local government congresses had earlier been conducted.

He further stated that the state congress was peaceful, adding that it was held under the supervision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as well as security agencies.

The former Chairman of the party, Bayo Dayo, while speaking noted that the party’s National Working Committee had given him the assignment to ensure a new executive of the party emerges today.

He further stated that the party does not have factions in the state again, he added that the congress has indicated there was genuine reconciliation.

According to him, everybody in the PDP has come together under one umbrella.

The new Chairman of PDP in Ogun state, Ogundele, while speaking after his victory assured members of what he called “an all-inclusive party administration.”

He said the party will unite and remain strong in preparation for the 2023 elections.
