Kogi West: Appeal Court Takes Final Decision On Dino Melaye vs Smart Adeyemi Case

An appeal filed by Senator Dino Melaye, challenging the victory of Senator Smart Adeyemi in the Kogi West Senatorial District election has been dismissed by the Court of Appeal in Abuja.

The appellate court in its ruling on Tuesday by a three-man panel resolved all issues against Melaye.

The court by its ruling, affirmed the judgment of the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal, (which sat in Abuja), and also affirmed the declaration of Adeyemi as the winner of the election as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

It also awarded N50,000 cost against Melaye and in favour of the respondents.
