Why PDP Will Continue To Get Bigger In Ondo - Jegede

Eyitayo Jegede, the Ondo governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has received his  Certificate of Return as the winner of the primary election.

Naija News learnt that the Gov of Enugu State & Chairman of the Ondo State Primary Election Committee, Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has presented the Certificate to Jegede at Abuja earlier today 27th of July 2020.

However, Jegde, was expected to name his running mate for Ondo 2020 election today.

Naija News understands that Ondo Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi; Gboluga Ikengboju Dele; Hon. Benson Amuwa; Mrs Banke Solton and Banji Okunomo, all from Ondo South senatorial district are those tipped to likely emerge.

The Ondo PDP governorship candidate hails from Ondo Central and Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu hails from Ondo North. It is believed that the choice of a running mate from Ondo South, supposed stronghold of the PDP, is to strengthen his chances of winning the election.

Jegede has been under pressure to pick Deputy Governor Ajayi as his running mate and the pressure on Jegede over Ajayi was due to the ability of Ajayi to garner 657 votes despite defecting to the party one month to the primary.

How, the PDP candidate for the Ondo 2020 was said to have subtly rejected the choice of Ajayi, stressing that the choice of his running mate would be determined by all the stakeholders, including PDP leaders after due consultations.
