The Senator representing Borno South Senatorial Constituency, Senator Ali Ndume, on Monday spoke on the decision of the Federal Government to reintegrate six hundred and one repentant Boko Haram terrorists.

The Chairman Senate Committee on Army, while speaking on a TVC programme, ‘Your View’, on Monday noted that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government is giving much attention to the repentant terrorists than it is giving to the victims of their attack.

The All Progressives Congress chieftain in his statement spoke on how people attacked by Boko Haram are treated in IDP camps, with food, clothing, medical and shelter issues, while the repentant terrorist is well treated.

The Senator noted that two days before the Federal Government released the repentant Boko Haram members, five of humanitarian workers were executed.

He noted that the humanitarian workers were killed before the government could not meet the demands of the terrorist group.

Ndume further stated that the priority of the President Buhari-led government at this time should be how to take care of the displaced victims.

The lawmaker added that the repentant Boko Haram terrorists should be kept somewhere and not be allowed into the society where they had killed people.

He stated that when people like the terrorist surrenders, “you take them in, then your profile them properly, he added that he does not think these people are well profiled.

The Senator noted that when the war is going on, you keep the repentant Boko Haram members somewhere and not release them back into the society with their victims with pampered privileges.

The lawmaker added that he has been victimised for standing out for the truth on issues relating to this, he promised not to back down even when it means he has to stand alone.

Ndume when asked if the President should sack the service chiefs stated that it is not the matter of who is there but, do we have the equipment to fight the war.
