The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has announced the inclusion of the Virology Laboratory, University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, in Enugu State to its Molecular Laboratory Network.

The health agency confirmed the development on Saturday, July 25 in a post on its verified Twitter account.

The tweet reads; “We are pleased to announce the inclusion of the Virology Laboratory, University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu to the NCDC Molecular Laboratory Network.”

“This total 59 labs in #NCDC lab network with the capacity to test for #COVID19.”

Meanwhile, Nigeria on Friday, July 24 recorded five hundred and ninety-one confirmed new cases of Coronavirus pandemic.

The development brings the overall cases of the dreaded disease in Nigeria to 39,539 while a total of 16,559 people have been discharged from the novel virus as at Friday night when the report was given on the NCDC official website.
