Nigerians Have Accepted Killings As New Normal - Dogara

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State has expressed shock at the decision of the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara to return to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

As earlier reported by Naija News, Dogara returned to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday.

The Chairman of the APC Caretaker/Convention Planning Committee and Governor of Kebbi State, Mai Malla Buni, disclosed this after the duo met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Although Dogara declined to speak to State House Correspondents after the meeting, Mai Buni told journalists that the former Speaker “is now a member of APC.”

Recall that Dogara, who defected to the PDP from the APC shortly before the 2019 general elections.

Reacting to Dogara’s defection, the Bauchi State PDP Public Relations Officer (PRO), Alhaji Yayanuwa Zainabari, expressed shock over the development.

He said he is most surprised by Dogara’s action due to the many sacrifices the party made in order to accommodate Dogara when he returned to the party in 2019.

“The government carried him along. The governor really honoured him and gave his people opportunities to be part of the government.

“The party has not wronged him in any way, but we want to know if the party wronged him,” Zainabari said in an interview with Daily Post.

Meanwhile, the APC spokesman in Bauchi state, Adamu Jallah, has described Dogara’s defection as a happy and welcome development.

“It is a welcome development to the party and we are happy.”

“We feel happy every day. We are not losing at all but getting more politicians every day,” the APC spokesman said.

He then added “You know politics is like a business. You can leave and you can come back.””He (Dogara) left the party and returns. We are happy.”
