Edo 2020: Ize-Iyamu In Fresh Trouble As APC Member Seeks Disqualification

It may not be smooth sailing yet for Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has filed a suit seeking to disqualify the governorship candidate of the party in Edo State.

Naija News reports that an aggrieved member of the APC and legal practitioner, Charles Ude, on Wednesday, filed a suit before the Federal High Court in Abuja against Ize-Iyamu.

In the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/839/2020, Charles Ude told the court that the emergence of the party candidate for the September 19 governorship election in Edo State was unlawful.

According to the APC member, the screening and primary election Committees that cleared Ize-Iyamu were not validly constituted.

‘Edo People Are Too Politically Sophisticated To Be Fooled’ – PDP Vice-Chair Mocks Oshiomhole

The former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole, has been called out by the National Vice-Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (South-South), Dan Orbih.

The PDP chieftain on Tuesday noted that Edo State does not belong to the former governor of the State.

Orbih, who is the Chairman of the state Campaign Council of the PDP for the September 19 governorship election, called on the people of Edo State to vote for the governorship candidate of the party, Godwin Obaseki, for sustainable development and growth of the state.

He stated this while speaking at the inauguration of the campaign council and sub-committees for the election in Benin City.

The PDP National Vice Chairman noted that the state government

should be trusted for refusing to continue with the culture of sharing the money at the expense of developing the state and detriment of Edo people.

Edo Election: PDP Inaugurates Campaign Council For Edo Guber

The opposition party made the disclosure in a tweet on its verified official account on the microblogging site, Twitter on Tuesday, July 21.

Naija News understands that the Edo governorship election was scheduled to hold on September 19, 2020.

Given an update on their readiness for the September guber election, the PDP tweeted, “#EdoDecides2020 #EdoDeservesObaseki The @OfficialPDPEdo has inaugurated its Campaign Council for the September 19 Guber Election. The council was inaugurated today at the @OfficialPDPNig state secretariat, Benin City.
