1. FG Gives Update On When International Flights Will Resume In Nigeria

No specific date has been fixed for the resumption of international flights in the country, Nigeria’s Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika has disclosed on Tuesday.

Sirika made this known while reacting to some reports that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) had selected October 15 as the resumption date for international flights.

2. Malian Crisis: “ECOWAS Will Soon Decide What To Do”, Buhari

ECOWAS will decide how to deal with the socio-political situation in Mali in the next few days, President Muhammadu Buhari, said on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at the State House, in Abuja.

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) will become more involved in the crisis shaking Mali, in the coming days, to find a peaceful resolution. For the Nigerian head of state, Muhammadu Buhari, the heads of government of West African countries would decide what to do with the situation in Mali after being informed by the President of Niger, Mahammadou Issoufou.

3. Details Of Meeting Between Buhari And Goodluck Revealed

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday met with the former President, Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The Presidency which released a statement after the meeting which ended after 11 am noted that the meeting between President Buhari and his predecessor was centred on the crisis in Mali for which the Economic Community of West African States saddled Jonathan with the responsibility of restoring peace.

4. President Buhari Delivers 2021/2023 MTEF/FSP To Senate, Seeks Approval

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, July 21 presented before the National Assembly the 2021 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper, Naija News learnt.

The development was confirmed during the plenary today by President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan.

5. Senate Asks Buhari To Sack Security Chiefs

The Nigeria Senate on Tuesday asked President Muhammadu Buhari to sack all Service Chiefs over the recent killing of soldiers and mass resignation from the military.

The upper legislative chambers also directed the leadership of the military to brief its relevant committees on the factors militating against the operations of the military to order to find a solution.

6. NLC Tables Fresh Demand Before Buhari Over Petrol Price In Nigeria

The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), has called for the downward review of the current prices of petroleum products in Nigeria.

Naija News reports that the call on the downward review of petrol price in Nigeria was made by NLC President, Ayuba Waba while responding to questions from journalists in Jalingo, capital of Taraba State, northern Nigeria.

7. NDDC Probe: Arrest Akpabio, National Assembly Members – HURIWA Tells Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has been advised to order an arrest of some members of the National Assembly and as well the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

The appeal was made by the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, in a statement released on Tuesday, July 21, 2020.

8. Service Chiefs Sack: Presidency Reacts To National Assembly’s Request

The Presidency has reacted to the request of the National Assembly calling for the sack of the Service Chiefs in the country.

Speaking in a reaction through a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), Femi Adesina, the presidency said that the sack of service chiefs is the prerogative of President Muhammadu Buhari.

9. Presidential Panel Rejects Magu’s Defence

Justice Ayo Salami led presidential panel has rejected the defence report of the embattled Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), suspended boss, Ibrahim Magu.

Naija News learnt that Wahab Shittu, Magu’s lawyer, had filed a defence based on the allegations levelled against his client. However, in the latest development, disclosed to the Cable, the defence was rejected by the panel.

10. Buhari Suspends EFCC Secretary Indefinitely

Olanipekun Olukoyede, the secretary of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has received a letter confirming his indefinite suspension from the commission.

Naija News had earlier reported that President Muhammadu Buhari suspended over 10 senior officials of the EFCC.

The EFCC’s executive secretary, Olanipekun Olukoyede, was among top officials of the commission suspended by President Buhari.
