The British High Commission in Nigeria has disclosed that it will resume the processing of visa application in Nigeria as from July 28, 2020.

This was disclosed by the Commission while giving an update on the situation via its Twitter account.

It noted that it understands that many people are eager to travel for visits, family reasons, education, employment and other reasons.

The statement reads:

“Update on visas. Thank you to everyone for your questions and patience. But remember application centres open from 28 July.”

“We know there are many Nigerian nationals hoping to travel to the UK when flights resume, both for employment and to see family members.

“UKVI are working closely with TSL contact, our commercial partner, to reopen visa application centres that were suspended due to COVID-19.

“UK visa application centres are reopening in phased manner globally when it is safe to do so and when we can operate an effective service.

“TSL contact are putting appropriate measures in place and working hard to reopen in Nigeria. We will share details of when VACs will reopen soon.”

Naija News recalls the visa application and processing had been suspended as a result of the global Coronavirus outbreak, which impacted international travels as well as other human physical activities.

Meanwhile, the federal government has disclosed that no specific date has been fixed for the resumption of international flights in the country.

This was disclosed by Nigeria’s Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika on Tuesday.

Sirika made this known while reacting to some reports that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) had selected October 15 as the resumption date for international flights.

The Minister noted that contrary to the belief in certain quarters, the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) only issued a routine 90-day notice to airmen (NOTAM).

He noted that proper announcements will be made when international flights will resume in the country.
