No specific date has been fixed for the resumption of international flights in the country, Nigeria’s Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika has disclosed on Tuesday.

Sirika made this known while reacting to some reports that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) had selected October 15 as the resumption date for international flights.

The Minister noted that contrary to the belief in certain quarters, the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) only issued a routine 90-day notice to airmen (NOTAM).

He noted that proper announcements will be made when international flights will resume in the country.

“International flight resumption date is not October. NAMA just issued a routine 90-day notice to airmen (NOTAM).”

“In liaison with health, foreign affairs & PTF COVID-19, we will announce the agreed date, regardless of the ban by Europe, UAE etc. May be earlier than October,” Sirika said on Twitter.
