Coronavirus: Worries As Abuja Records Highest COVID-19 Cases

Kano Records 130 Cases Of Diphtheria Disease As States Beg For Gov't Intervention

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Monday, July 20 recorded the highest daily Coronavirus confirmed cases.

FCT on Monday night emerged at the top of the COVID-19 table with 102 cases, two cases above Lagos State which have almost always had the highest cases so far in the country.

This was as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC confirmed 562 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic in the country.

The health agency’s reports for Monday night confirmed the newly reported cases to be found as follows; FCT-102, Lagos-100, Plateau-52, Kwara-50, Abia-47, Kaduna-35, Benue-34, Oyo-26, Ebonyi-24, Kano-16, Niger-15, Anambra-14, Gombe-12, Edo-11, Rivers-6, Nasarawa-5, Delta-5, Borno-3, Enugu- 2, Bauchi-2, and 1 in Kebbi State.

As at the time this report was given, total related COVID-19 deaths in Nigeria is 801, 37,225 overall cases reported while 15,333 patient has been discharged so far, Naija News reports.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government has warned that Nigeria risks another pandemic after coronavirus in Nigeria if it fails to take advantage of opportunities presented by COVID-19 to develop its health infrastructure.
