1. NCDC Reports 600 Cases Of Coronavirus In Nigeria, Breakdown Of Cases By State

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported fresh 600 cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria. Naija News reports that the NCDC confirmed the new 600 cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria in a series of tweets on the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Friday evening, July 17.

2. FG Fixes Deadline For Schools To Meet COVID-19 Guidelines

The Federal Government has asked school owners to meet specific guidelines for the safe reopening of schools on or before 29th July 2020. Speaking to newsmen on Friday, the Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, said schools are expected to undertake self-assessment and send feedback to State Ministries of Education, not later than 29th July 2020.

3. National Assembly Gets New Clerk To Replace Sani-Omolori, Others (Full List)

A new National Assembly clerk has been appointed by the National Assembly Service Commission. He is Ojo Amos Olatunde. Olatunde, who was appointed in an acting capacity, will replace the sacked Mohammed Sani-Omolori.

4. NDDC Probe: Court Stops Nigerian Police From Arresting Joy Nunieh

A Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has barred the Nigeria Police and other Law enforcement agencies from arresting the former Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Joy Nunieh. Justice S.E Thompson who gave the ex-parte order, restraining the NDDC and others from arresting Nunieh, pending the determination of the matter in court.

Mallam Garba Shehu, the senior special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity has denied writing any story against Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
