The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has berated a group of political parties that endorsed the incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki of the PDP as their respective party’s choice in the upcoming election in September 2020.
Ize-Iyamu also accused the group of political parties of receiving five million naira from governor Obaseki.
Ize-iyamu who made this known via a press statement through his media aide, Mr John Mayaki to Naija News revealed that Obaseki also promised them 65 million naira reward.
Speaking further on the attitude of the political parties, Izé -Iyamu said the ‘motley of parties’ have sold out their platform and done irrevocable damage to their potential for growth in the state by agreeing to offer their support to a widely rejected Governor.
“With this act of betrayal and greed, it is safe to say that these parties have successfully and irrevocably done damage to their integrity and placed a final barrier to any potential for growth and relevance in Edo State.”
Naija News recalls that not less than 35 registered and de-registered political parties under the aegis of Coalition of Political Parties (CPP) have merged with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to endorse Governor Godwin Obaseki for re-election.
