Lawmakers Issues Warrant Of Arrest For NDDC Boss, Pondei

The Nigerian lawmaker has called for the immediate arrest of the acting Managing Director of the Interim Management Committee(IMC) of the NDDC, Professor Kemebradikumo Ponder, who walked out on them earlier today.

Naija News reported that Pondei out with his team on Thursday 16th July walked out on the lawmaker to protest against the Chairman of the Committee, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, presiding over the investigative hearing.

According to Pondei, Tunji-Ojo had been fingered in the alleged fraud at the NDDC cannot preside over a matter in which he is an accused.pondei also stated that they were not prepared to make any presentation before the House of Reps Committee.

In a reaction to the development, The furious lawmakers accused  Ponder and his team of plotting to frustrate legislative functions and ordered a warrant of arrest be issued against him. The Committee members also unanimously passed a vote of confidence on its Chairman.

Meanwhile, Naija News Understands that while the lawmakers were battling with the drama of Pondei and the NDDC  ‎₦143 billion discrepancies the Former boss of the agency, Joy Nunieh, was been placed on house arrest.

However, it took the intervention of the river State Governor, Nyesome Wike to come to the aide of the Ex-NDDC Boss.  Wike in his reaction described the invasion of the residence of Nunieh as a disgrace, he further stated that the action of the police operatives is a shame to the country.
