It was a tough night for the English Premier League Champions, Liverpool FC on Wednesday night at the Emirate Stadium as they were beaten to 2-1 by the host team, Arsenal FC.

Naija News understands that it’s the third time the Reds will lose in the Premier League competition this season.

Though the champions had dominated the game, having much possession of the ball, more corner kicks and shots on targets than the host team but could only make a goal from the numerous chances.

Senegal International, Sadio Mane, gave Liverpool an opening goal in the 20th minute of the first half. While Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacasette and Reiss Nelson both scored 2 goals in the 32 and 44 minutes respectively.

One could but conclude that Liverpool has been performing poorly since they were declared the 2019/2020 English Premier League season champions, and this could be because they have achieved the main aim of lifting the trophy after 30-years.

With careful observation, the Reds’ loss at the Emirate Stadium was as a result of a few errors from their midfield coming down to the defence line. Dutch professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Liverpool, Virgil Van Dijk made an error which directly resulted in a goal for the host team.

Meanwhile, Saheed Adebayo Akinfenwa, better known as Adebayo Akinfewa has been invited to a future league parade by English Premier League champions, Liverpool FC.
