COVID-19: Lagos Assembly Issues Fresh Directive To Lawmakers

The leadership of the Lagos State House of Assembly has directed all lawmakers to go for coronavirus (COVID-19) test.

Naija News reports that this is following the death of Hon. Tunde Braimoh, who represented Kosofe II constituency in the state assembly.

In a statement on Tuesday, the lawmaker representing Ifako Ijaiye 1 constituency, Hon. Adewale Adedeji, disclosed that the leadership of the Assembly gave the directive on Sunday.

Adedeji also revealed that he has tested negative for COVID-19.

“As directed by the leadership of the Lagos State House of Assembly, On Sunday, 12th of July, 2020; I went and submitted myself for the COVID-19 test, and I have gotten my result. The test result came out NEGATIVE,” he said.

“To this end, it is our collective responsibility to be more careful and observe all the stipulated and given rules to help us prevent the transmission of this deadly virus”.

“Wash your hands for 30 seconds regularly, avoid social gatherings, maintain social distancing and at all times wear a face mask, the use of hand sanitizer should become a habit and finally, avoid touching your face and nose.

“I thank Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy Obafemi Hamzat for proactively and tirelessly fighting this pandemic and I pray we won’t be part to its destruction”
