Governor Kayode Fayemi-led government has shut-down Victory College, Ilawe Ekiti, in the Ekiti South West Local Government Area for allegedly violating the directives of the state government on the closure of schools due to the outbreak of Coronavirus.

The Ekiti State government noted that the proprietor of the private school who is reportedly on the run, “will face the wrath of the law for the violation of COVID-19 protocols in the state whenever he is apprehended.”

The Commissioner for Education in the state, Foluso Daramola, who released the directives on Friday after receiving an interim report from officials of the ministry, who investigated the school, revealed that security agents are after the proprietor who is on the run.

The Assistant Director, Information, in the ministry, Kunle Adeniyi, in a statement released on Sunday, said the proprietor of the affected school was discovered to be organising extramural classes for students in violation to the directive of the state government due to the outbreak of Coronavirus.

Daramola restated the commitment of the Governor Fayemi administration to the healthy living of all the citizens of the state.
