COVID-19: People Have Started Setting Up Fake Testing/Treatment Centres – Lagos Ministry

A fake private COVID-19 testing centre, inside a pharmacy in Banana Island, Ikoyi Lagos,  has been sealed of by the Lagos State Ministry of Health.

In a tweet via its Twitter handle, the ministry said the lab, Acouns Medical Laboratory and Diagnostic Centre, situated inside a pharmacy, without getting any approval from the government was carrying out coronavirus tests.

The ministry noted that it is a crime to handle COVID-19 cases outside an accredited facility.

They further urged the public not to go for any test nor treatment in a private faculty which has not been accredited by the government.

“It is dangerous, and it might put you at more risk.”

The ministry noted that it would continue to ensure that health facilities in the state adhere strictly to standards that guarantee the health and well-being of Lagos citizens.
