1. Presidency Speaks On Who Buhari Has Approved To Replace Magu As EFCC Chairman

The presidency has moved to give some clarifications about who President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed to replace the embattled Ibrahim Magu as the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Speaking via a series of tweets on Thursday, Lauretta Onochie, social media aide to the President said it is better to wait for an official communication before rushing to tell the public unconfirmed news.

2. Osinbajo Writes IGP On ‘Receiving N4billion’ From Magu, Makes Demand

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has written the Inspector-General of Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Muhammed Adamu, over claims that he received N4billion from Ibrahim Magu, the suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Naija News reports that the petition by the Vice President is coming after Jackson Ude, a former director of strategy and communications under President Goodluck Jonathan administration, through his news medium, “PointBlank News”, published that the embattled Magu embezzled over N39 billion and gave Osinbajo N4 billion for a soft landing.

The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party, has accused two state governors and a Minister of being responsible for the crisis rocking the party in the southwest state.
