Many political parties will be participating in the election but all attention would be on the candidates of the two major parties, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Edo 2020: Viral Video of Ganduje Pocketing Dollars Spotted At Ring Road Benin

A video of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano stuffing dollars bills in his pockets has been reportedly spotted at popular ring road Benin City, the Edo State capital.

Naija News recalls that the publisher, Jaafar Jaafar of Daily Nigerian Newspaper, had published videos in 2018 showing Ganduje allegedly collecting kickbacks from contractors handling projects in the state.

Governor Ganduje had approached the court to stop further publishing of the video by Jaafar and probe by the Kano State House of Assembly.

With the race for the Edo State governorship seat heating up, the viral Ganduje video was reportedly placed in a billboard to mock the Kano Governor, according to a post on Twitter by activist Deji Adeyanju.

This online news platform reports that Ganduje was appointed to head the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign council for the Edo gubernatorial election.

You Can’t Rig Edo Gov Election, PDP Tells APC

The Peoples Democratic Party has revealed the plan of the All Progressives Congress and its governorship candidate in Edo State, Osagie Ize-Iyamu to rig the September 19 governorship election in the state.

PDP on Thursday noted that the opposition party cannot rig the electoral process, it called on APC to desist from making up reports in an attempt to condition the Independent National Electoral Commission to manipulate the outcome of the elections.

The call was revealed in a statement titled, “You Can’t Rig Edo Election, PDP Mocks APC, Ize-Iyamu …Urges APC To Desist from Fabrications” and signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Kola Ologbodiyan, in Abuja, on Thursday.

The party further stated that APC was planning to “use fabrications in a section of the media to arm-twist the Independent National Electoral Commission, to manipulate the Edo state governorship election for their rejected candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu.”

EDO 2020: Ize-Iyanmu Mocks PDP Over  Obaseki’s Academic Credentials

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has mocked the ruling party in the states over the academic credential of Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Ize-Iyamu said it was shameful for PDP leaders to field Godwin Obaseki as its standard-bearer for the September 19 governorship election, despite earlier condemning him as a non-achiever as the Edo governor.

Ize-Iyamu, yesterday in an online statement by the Director of Communication and Media of his campaign organisation, Prince John Mayaki, said it was confusing for PDP leaders to be singing Obaseki’s praise, claiming he was the almighty, the saint and the blameless, after parading him as a failure, who deceived the courts and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with counterfeit credentials.
