The district head of Bajida in Fakai Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Alhaji Musa Muhammad-Bahago has been killed by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.
According to reports, the 56-year-old traditional ruler was murdered by the gunmen while returning to his village from Zuru town.
The older brother of the murdered district head, Alhaji Umar Muhammad, revealed he was murdered on Wednesday around 4pm to 6pm.
“He died at the age of 56, and is survived by four wives and many children,” Muhammad said.
The sad incident was also confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Nafi’u Abubakar, who added that no stone will be left unturned in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
He said: ”It is true we are aware and it is unfortunate.”
”The man was driving himself as he was coming from Zuru town heading to his village and the unknown gunmen laid an ambush for him and brought him down from his car and killed him.
“We are making all effort to arrest the perpetrators of the dastardly act.”
