The Ekiti State government has started receiving applications from indigenes of the state for recruitment into the Amotekun security outfit.

The Commander of the Amotekun Corps, Brig.- Gen. Joe Komolafe (rtd) made the disclosure while addressing newsmen on Wednesday.

Komolafe added that the recruitment forms are free, but applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 60, with minimum educational qualifications of Primary School Leaving Certificate.

Interested applicants must also get endorsement letters from their traditional rulers affirming their indigene-status.

Naija News recalls the Amotekun outfit was set up as a regional security outfit by the South West Governors in response to the challenges of kidnapping, banditary and other vices in the area.

Governor Kayode Fayemi in March signed into law a bill backing the establishment of the network aimed at ending kidnapping, killing and other crimes.
