Oyo Govt Confirms Suspected Serial Killers’ Arrest

The Oyo State Government on Wednesday confirmed that the state police command has apprehended some suspected ritualists in connection with the recent killings in Akinyele community in Ibadan.

The Special Adviser to the State Governor, Seyi Makinde on Security, Fatai Owoseni, stated this during a town hall meeting organised by JAMZ 100.1 FM, Ibadan.

Owoseni in his statement noted that the suspected killers would soon be paraded by the Oyo State Police Command.

He said, “I can assure you as I speak that the perpetrators of the killings in Akinyele have been apprehended.”

“As of Tuesday, the criminals were apprehended and the Commissioner of Police would possibly hold a press conference today. But, I can specifically tell you that the person behind it has taken police to the ritualists and they are now behind the bars.”

He called on the people of Oyo State to be security conscious, he further stated that the people of the state has a major role in security communities.

Recall that a 29-year-old expectant mother, two undergraduates, and a young boy were killed by unknown assailants in their homes in the Akinyele area of Ibadan recently.
