COVID-19: Fear Grips Workers As Edo Assembly Member Tests Positive

Workers at the Edo State House of Assembly has been ordered to go for compulsory Coronavirus test following the report that the House leader, Roland Asoro, has tested positive to the virus.

Recall that the Speaker of the House, Frank Okiye, recently recovered from Coronavirus.

Following the directives of the state House of Assembly, the entrance gate to the complex was shut on Tuesday, while only a few staff members were seen outside the complex discussing the order for the compulsory test.

The speaker of the House who was present at the complex stayed in his official vehicle and refused to enter his office.

A worker, who spoke on condition of anonymity noted that the report that the House leader has tested positive for COVID-19 has brought fear the way of his colleagues.

The source further stated that the authorities intended to fumigate the premises before it would be opened for normal activities.

He said, “Many people refused to show up today (Tuesday) for work.”
