COVID-19: We Would Start Using All Public/Private Hospitals As Collection Centres Soon – Health Minister

Ehanire Osagie, Health Minister has said there are plans by the ministry to boost overall collection of COVID-19 samples.

He said to achieve this, they are preparing all eligible public and private hospitals nationwide to become collection sites.

This he said during a press briefing of the Presidential Tasks Force, PTF Yesterday in Abuja.

He noted that the ministry yesterday sent a 17-man team to Calabar to engage with the Cross River State Government in setting up its COVID-19 response and aligning it with the national response.

In another news, the rising cases of COVID-19 may lead to a declaration of fresh lockdown orders again, the Presidential Tasks Force has said.

Speaking during its press briefing yesterday, its chairman, who is also secretary to the government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, lamented that the cases were increasing as a result of the disregard people are having for the guidelines

Mustapha noted that events in the coming weeks would determine the next line of action.
