2020 WASSCE: WAEC Briefs On Timetable, Gives Fresh Warning To Candidates

Nigeria Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, during Presidential Task Force briefing on COVID-19 in Abuja on July 6 disclosed that facilities would soon be made available for school revision classes ahead of the West African Examination Council, WAEC.

According to the minister, the ministry is set to release a fresh timetable for the 2020 WASSCE examination.

Naija News understands that the disclosure was coming following an announcement by the Federal Government that the WAEC examination would kickstart from August 4 and last through September 5.

Nwajiuba, however, admonished parents and guidances to make a record of the announced date, considering the fact that NABTEB and NECO exams will also kickoff respectively not long after completion of the WAEC exams.

The minister, therefore, admonished candidates to get themselves prepared for the examinations, considering the limited time they have. He further noted that aside from the exam timetable, candidates will be issued with health and safety guidelines while wearing of face masks will also be made mandatory for all to ensure compliance with the health agencies against the spread of Coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Monday night reported five hundred and seventy-five confirmed new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

As at the time the report was given, the overall confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria is 29,286, deaths related to the dreadful virus were 654 while so far 11,828 patients have been discharged, Naija News understands.
