The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported fresh 603 cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria. Naija News reports that the NCDC confirmed the new 603 cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria in a series of tweets on the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Saturday evening, July 4.

2. Buhari Makes Fresh Appointment

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, has approved the appointment of Reverend Yakubu Pam as the Executive Secretary of Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC). Naija News reports that Pam’s appointment as NCPC boss was disclosed in a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.

The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Agboola Ajayi, says Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has 21 days to hand over power to him or the constitution would be invoked. Naija News reports that Governor Akeredolu, who is currently receiving treatment for Coronavirus, had vowed on Friday that he would not hand over to his Deputy in an acting capacity.

According to information made available to newsmen, the woman drilled a nail into the head of her maid and also burnt her skin with hot pressing iron.

President Muhammadu Buhari has commended Ikenna Nweke, a Nigerian PhD student in the University of Tsukuba, Japan, who returned a missing wallet with huge sums of money to the police. Nweke was also said to have turned down the offer of a percentage by the authorities.

Nweke was said to have found the wallet on his way home in Japan on June 19.
