APC Knocks Obaseki, PDP Over New Appointments

Governor Godwin Obaseki has lost some of his trusted allies to the political gallery of drama as five of his aides has pulled out of his administration

Naija News learnt that the aides resigned their appointments ahead of the September 19 governorship election in support of the all progressive party.

Those aides that pulled out are, Honest Imina Unuagbon (SSA LGA), Goodluck Uyigue (SSA Ward 2), Razak Rotimi (SA Ward 7), Victor Olunyomi (SA Ward 8) and Smart Bank (SA Ward 10).

The special assistants in a letter dated Friday, July, 3, explained that the reason for their resignation was based on the ground that they were not ready to defect to the PDP along with the governor.

In a joint letter of resignation sent to Governor Obaseki through the Secretary to State Government (SSG), Mr Osarodion Ogie, they wrote: “Our reason is simply based on the fact that we are not ready to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) along with the governor.”

Naija News recalls that Obaseki dumped the All progressive Party due to the fact that he was denied the opportunity to contest for the primary election. His sour relationship between Obaseki and erstwhile political godfather, Adams Oshiomole also one core reason that propels the governor’s decision peach his tent with the opposition party.
