President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Professor Adesoji Adesugba as the Managing Director of the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA).

This was made known in a post on Twitter by the Special Assistant to President Buhari on Digital and New Media, Tolu Ogunlesi.

He wrote: “President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed @adesugba as Managing Director of the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA), a parastatal of TradeInvest Nigeria.”

NEPZA is a parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment.

Adesugba’s appointment was also confirmed in a letter signed by Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari and addressed to the Minister, Adeniyi Adebayo.

The Minister in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Media Assistant, Julius Toba-Jegede, hailed Buhari over Adesugba’s appointment.

He also charged Adesugba to improve on the legacies of his predecessors and carry the staff along in the day-to-day running of the agency.

The Minister who expressed confidence over the choice of Adesugba said his wealth of experience coupled with his academic exposure would add value to the attainment of NEPZA’s core mandate.

Naija News recalls that Buhari had on Monday appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Aliyu Abubakar Musa, as his Chief Personal Security Officer (CPSO).

The new appointment was announced in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President in Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.

“President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Aliyu Abubakar Musa, as his Chief Personal Security Officer (CPSO).

“DCP Musa, from Nigerian Police Force Zone 5, Benin City, as his last station, hails from Niger State.

“Musa’s appointment follows the redeployment of his predecessor, Commissioner of Police (CP) Abdulkarim Dauda”, the statement said.
