Katsina Convoy Accident: Army Condoles With Family Of 75-Year-Old Victim

A day after a convoy of the Nigerian Army in Katsina State reportedly rammed into a motorcycle rider which results in his death, a report from the command said it has sent a delegation to commiserate with the family of the 75-years-old victim.

It was reported that the accident had happened on the noon hour of yesterday at Mani House junction, an area in the Katsina metropolis, involving an Okada rider and the convoy of the Commander, 17 Brigade, Nigeria Army in the state.

Confirming the incident, the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Sagir Musa, revealed that a 75-year-old whose name is identified as Alhaji Salisu Ibrahim died in the accident.

According to him, the incident happened while the convoy was returning from a petrol station to get fuel so it could go back to pick up the Brigade Commander.

He, however, expressed his deep heartfelt over the demise of the old man, noted that a delegation of the Nigerian Army led by the Brigade commander has since visited the late Ibrahim family to commiserate with them over the loss of their loved father.

“The convoy of the Commander, 17 Brigade NA, Katsina was involved in a road traffic accident on June 29, 2020, during which the death to a road user was recorded,” Musa revealed.

“The late motorcycle rider was a 75-year-old man named Alhaji Salisu Ibrahim of Filin Samji, Katsina. The incident occurred when the vehicles went to refuel and were expected to pick up the Brigade commander later.”

“Already, a delegation of the Nigerian Army led by the Brigade commander has visited the family to commiserate with them and will be fully involved in the burial,” he reiterated.
