SON Warns Hand Sanitiser Producers, Reveals Product Nigerians Should Buy

The Standards Organisation of Nigeria, SON, has frowned at manufacturers of hand sanitizers producing below the global standards.

The regulatory body in a statement today, condemned manufacturers violating standards of production, admonished Nigerians to always look out for sanitizers and liquid wash approved by the SON in other to avoid damages to their skins by poor quality products.

SON on Monday promised to sanction manufacturers of the fake products who have paid deaf ears to guidelines in the production of the liquids which has become helpful tools in battling the spread of the dreadful COVID-19 disease.

According to the SON, quality hand sanitisers are important at this time in the fight against the novel virus, adding that it would “not tolerate any minus in standards.”

The statement reads; “SON urged consumers to always insist on patronising only hand sanitisers certified by SON to avoid harmful effects on their skin while also getting value for their hard-earned money.”

“Quality hand sanitisers and liquid hand wash are some of the critical tools to battle the virus. Handwashing with soap and water is one of the most important steps that can be taken to avoid getting sick and spreading the virus to loved ones.”

SON again urged manufacturers to visit its offices to obtain detailed requirements for the production of standard goods in the country, adding that the agency would provide full support to businesses that have public health safety at heart.

Meanwhile, theĀ Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported fresh four hundred and ninety confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.
