Ex-Oyo Governor, Ajimobi Buried In Ibadan

The remains of the former Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi was on Sunday laid to rest in Ibadan, the state capital.

Naija News reports that the former Oyo State governor was buried according to Islamic rites at his 6th Avenue, Yemoja Street, Oluyole Estate residence amid tight security.

The late Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress  (APC), aged 70, was laid to rest at 10:05 am.

Abiola Ajimobi was reportedly buried in strict compliance with the COVID-19 protocols.

Those in attendance include the wife of the former governor, Chief Florence Ajimobi, and other members of his immediate family.

APC supporters and other loyalists of the late politician were barred by security agencies from the burial.

The late governor had lost his life after battling for several weeks, he had been in a coma and on life support for some days after a botched surgery passed which eventually led to his death at the First Cardiology Hospital, Ikoyi.

Ajimobi, who was being treated for COVID-19 complications had been totally unconscious since last Thursday after his organs totally collapsed.
