Ajimobi’s Burial Ceremony Allegedly Postponed Till Further Notice

The burial ceremony of Late Oyo State former Governor, Abiola Ajimobi has been postponed till further notice.

Naija News recalls that the immediate past governor of Oyo state who died on Thursday was expected to be buried earlier today.

The former Chief Executive Officer, National Oil and Chemical Marketing Company, a subsidiary of Shell Nigeria, died due to underlying health conditions, which was worsened by COVID-19.

Speaking about burial ceremony, the media aide to late Oyo politician  Bolaji Tunji, revealed that the family would soon make an announcement of the burial programmeTunji said:

“The funeral arrangements will be announced soon by the family but it will be observed privately so as to be in accordance with the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) guidelines.”

Meanwhile, Naija News learnt that President Muhammadu Buhari sent he condolences to the government and people of Oyo State on the death of their  former governor

He noted that the former governor’s contributions to the development of the state, and nation, cannot be forgotten. Buhari’s condolence was contained in a statement signed by his spokesman, Femi Adesina.

The statement reads: “As the party chieftain bows out, President Buhari believes he left the world at a crucial moment when the party and the country needed his counsels to heal and grow, noting that his absence will be sorely felt by all associates, particularly in the APC.”
