Delta State DCP Mamman Rijau Is Dead – IGP Adamu Confirms

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu has confirmed the death of Delta State Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mamman Rijau.

The IGP in a condolence visit to the deceased family in Minna, the capital city of Niger State on Thursday, June 25 expressed his shock over the death of the officer who he described as dedicated and patriotic to the force.

Naija News learnt that the DCP passed on in Abuja a few hours ago after suffering from an undisclosed illness.

Represented by the Commissioner of Police in Niger State, Adamu Usman, the IGP noted Rijau had before the sudden illness that results in his death distinguished himself in service to the nation, adding that the officer indeed lived a good life worthy of emulation.

“I want to express my sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family of late Mamman Saleh Rijau, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command,” the IGP said.

Adamu prayed the Almighty Allah (SWT) to grant Rijau’s soul eternal rest and as well gives his family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Naija News understands that the deceased died at the age of 56 and left behind two wives, eight children and also an aged mother. Reports also gathered that he has immediately been buried according to Islamic rites.

Meanwhile, Naija News had reported earlier that the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, while speaking at the inauguration of the Community Policing Advisory Committee in Gombe State noted that Police can’t be everywhere at the same time.
