Breaking: Buhari Recognizes Giadom As Authentic APC Acting National Chairman

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday evening, pitched his tent with the Victor Giadom faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This is as the President said the law is on the side of Giadom.

The President’s position was disclosed in a tweet by his personal assistant on new media, Bashir Ahmad.

Naija News recalls that following the appeal court order which upheld the suspension of Adams Oshiomhole from the APC, two factions emerged both laying claim to the National Chairmanship seat of the party.

A faction chose former Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi as its candidate to occupy the national chairmanship seat in an acting capacity.

The faction further installed Hilliard Eta to act on behalf of Ajimobi who is believed to be indisposed.

However, another faction also emerged with Victor Giadom as its own candidate, plunging the APC into a factional leadership crisis.

A fresh twist was added to the entire saga on Wednesday after President Buhari spoke publicly for the first time on the matter and pitched his tent with the Giadom faction.

A statement released by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu noted that:

“The President has received very convincing advice on the position of the law as far as the situation in the party is concerned and has determined that the law is on the side of Victor Giadom as Acting National Chairman.”

“We urge the media to stop promoting manufactured controversies and to not give any further room for mischievous interpretations of the law on this matter.”

“In addition to the President, the Giadom meeting will, hopefully, be attended by our Governors and the leaders of the National Assembly.”
