The crisis within the All Progressives Congress seems to be nowhere near its end as the Rivers State Executive Committee of the party, on Monday suspended the Acting Chairman of the party in Rivers, Igo Aguma.

The Senator representing Rivers East Senatorial District, Andrew Uchendu, while speaking on behalf of the state Executive Committee, accused Aguma of flouting the party’s constitution and making decisions without consulting relevant stakeholders.

Uchendu further stated that the state Executive Committee would henceforth be led by Sokonte Davies as the chairman of the state chapter of APC.

He further stated that the suspension of Victor Giadom from the office of Deputy National Secretary of APC, as well as the nomination and appointment of Worgu Boms as a replacement, was in nullity.

Recall that the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress suspended the factional National Chairman of the party, Victor Giadom.

Livingstone Wechie, the Media Adviser to the Acting Chairman of APC in Rivers, Igo Aguma, said the former Deputy National Secretary was suspended over alleged acts of gross infractions of the party’s Constitution.
