The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has alleged that base on how Nigeria was founded, the nation could never have become one.

Naija News understands that the Biafra agitation leader was reacting to a recent submission by a group, United Nations of Nigeria Campaign, which described the 1999 constitution as a fraud.

According to the group, no amount of amendments can legitimise the constitution as created 21-years ago. Adding that Nigeria will only make progress when the 1999 constitution is dissolved and entirety return back to the constitution practised before January 15, 1966, military coup.

The UNNC maintained that suggestion can be achieved but will that it would require the military and not the National Assembly.

Reacting to the report, Kanu took to his Twitter handle to further counter the constitution, accusing the Fulanis of creating a constitution in the 90s to convert Nigeria into an Islamic State.

He said, “Nigeria was founded on FOUR Constitutions – Federal, Eastern, Western & Northern Constitutions. So, Nigeria was NEVER meant to be ONE for obvious reasons. In 1999 Fulani created only ONE Constitution geared to making Nigeria a #Fulani Islamic State.”
