President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday in Abuja at the Aso Rock Villa, held a private meeting with Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The meeting is believed to be connected with the current strings of crisis rocking the party both at the national and state levels.

The meeting was still in progress at the time of filing this report.

Naija News reports the meeting is coming less thanĀ 24 hours after the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan met with the President over the crisis in APC which is threatening to tear the ruling party apart.

“This is the ruling party with the president; with the control of the National Assembly; with more governors than any other political party.

“So, I believe that we have to sort this out and that will make our work even better and easier when we have a stable party as the party is supposed to be part of the apparatus of running government”, Lawan said.

Present at Monday’s meeting includes the Chairman of Progressive Governors Forum and Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu, Chairman of Northern Governors Forum and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, and the Governor of Jigawa State, Abubakar Badaru.
