Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford, has received praises from his former boss over his free meal project launched and targetted at kids in the UK.

The 22-year-old had amid the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic initiated a campaign which provides food to children in England, Naija News understands.

Reacting to the player’s gesture and commitment towards the programme, Portuguese professional football manager who now heads English Premier League club, Tottenham Hotspur, Jose Mourinho expressed his joy seeing how the young star has become a ‘responsible’ man.

Naija News learnt that over 1.3 million school children in England will benefit from Rashford’s campaign which has received the support from his club, other stakeholders in the England leagues and beyond.

Mourinho has, therefore, heaped praises on the player, describing him as a ‘man with principles’.

“Rashford did amazingly well, I congratulate him on that,” said Spurs coach in a recent interview with Metro UK.

“It is a bit strange for me that one football player can make it happen and, if it happens, it is because the government realises it is the right thing to do. The government should not wait for one player to come out publicly and put some pressure on them for that to happen,” the former United coach noted.

He added, “The 18-year-old kid I met a few years ago is now a man and a man with principles. To fight for kids very similar to him when he was a young kid is something very nice from Marcus.”

Mourinho’s submission is coming a few hours his side’s clash with United. Naija News reports that Spurs on Friday night will face United in the EPL as game season restarts.

Meanwhile, former Spanish footballer, Jose Enrique Sanchez Diaz, better known as Jose Enrique, has narrated awful experience he had to endure since his retirement from playing football.
