The crisis rocking the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) took another twist on Thursday as the court re-affirmed Victor Giadom as the party’s acting National Chairman.

The Abuja federal high court in a ruling delivered by Justice S.U Bature ordered that Giadom should continue as the APC acting National Chairman.

It also added that Mustapha Salihu, national vice-chairman north-east, should act as the national secretary.

The court held that its ruling should be in place until the party’s National Executive Council meeting is convened and a decision is taken on the matter or the matter is resolved by the court.

The court orders follow the granting of Ex parte orders in a suit brought before it by Salihu. The order is enforceable for only two weeks but could be renewed upon expiration, Naija News reports.

The leadership crisis in the APC follows an appeal court order on Tuesday which upheld the suspension of Adams Oshiomhole as the party’s authentic National Chairman.

After the appellate court order, the APC announced Senator Abiola Ajimobi as acting chairman and approved the appointment of Hilliard Eta, APC vice-chairman south-south in acting capacity to act on behalf of Ajimobi who is understood to be indisposed.

Giadom however declared himself as the acting National Chairman and nullified the result of the screening committee which disqualified Godwin Obaseki from contesting the party’s governorship primaries in Edo State.

When contacted on Thursday, Salihu told TheCable that the court order came as a shock to him but he didn’t respond to a question on whether he had withdrawn the suit.
